Skilled Work Regional (Provisional)

A 5-year provisional visa for skilled workers willing to live in regional Australia. Adds 15 points — the largest single points boost available.

Obligation: Must live, work, and study in regional Australia

Temporary Skill Shortage (TSS)

The main employer-sponsored temporary visa. Allows employers to hire skilled overseas workers where no suitable Australian worker is available.

Duration: 2 years (Short-term) or 4 years (Medium-term stream)
Salary: Must meet TSMIT ($73,150 from 1 July 2026)
Occupation: Must be on the CSOL (Consolidated Sponsored Occupation List)
PR pathway: Subclass 186 or 186 TRT after 2 years (medium-term)

Employer Nomination Scheme (ENS)

Permanent residence for skilled workers nominated by an approved Australian employer. The primary PR pathway from a 482 TSS visa.

Salary: Must meet market salary rate and TSMIT
Outcome: Permanent residence granted immediately

Skilled Employer Sponsored Regional

Partner Visa (Onshore)

For genuine partners (married or de facto) of Australian citizens or PRs who are already in Australia. Granted in two stages: temporary then permanent.

Stage 1 (820): Temporary — full work rights from grant
Stage 2 (801): Permanent — assessed ~2 years after Stage 1
Evidence: Financial, social, cohabitation, and commitment

A provisional visa for business owners, investors, and entrepreneurs. Five streams covering different asset levels and business backgrounds.

Investor: State-designated investment of $1.5m+
SIV (Significant Investor): $5m complying investment for 4 years
Entrepreneur: $200k funding from approved source
